Here is the latest nearly completed object. It's a Baby Surprise Jacket, by Elizabeth Zimmerman, from her book, "Knitting Workshop". It was knit in Jumperweight Shetland yarn at 6 stitches per inch. Totally in garter stitch, it folds up like an envelope into a little baby jacket and just needs some shoulder seaming and 5 little buttons to finish.
I am currently working on another Baby Surprise, out of Debbie Bliss baby cashmerino and am ripping back a bit, as I became a little too cocky (and thought that I didn't need no stinking directions)..

Here we are, in the very best time of year for knitting, (now that those pesky Christmas projects are finished). It's cold. The wool feels warm on the hand and it's a pleasure to be indoors. Time to put the teakettle on, pick up the needles and choose something that you really want to make.
